Note to Self (No 2)…

I have friends of different ages, nationalities, political parties, religious beliefs and so on so forth. We could always talk about everything but we had found a way to never quarrel with each other: whenever there was tension in one of the categories that could cause quarrel, we would mutually avoid discussing about it.

Today, a woman that I thought was a friend deleted me from Facebook just because I expressed my opinion about the political party she is supporting! I didn’t comment on any of her provocative posts or comments while we were discussing nor did I correct her whenever she wrote inaccuracies or spread rumors or even insulted the leader of the political party I support! I just wrote on my wall!

What is worse is that… when this woman’s husband died, I immediately contacted her and upon discussing about it we started crying together. After that, I would often check up on her and helped her share her grief and maybe start feeling better.

My family and I, treat in a special way people with whom we have shared memories, have laughed together, eaten together, slept at each other’s home, shared our deepest thoughts and secrets and most of all, when we have cried together because the latter two cases are, maybe, when you are most vulnerable, open your heart and trust somebody! But that is just us! You can’t expect everybody to be or think just like you do.
